We are looking for a highly organized, flexible, and energetic individual to support the activities of the research team of Drs. Terrie E. Moffitt and Avshalom Caspi, in the FULL-TIME position of Associate in Research for Spring semester 2010. This post is suitable for a new graduate seeking experience with a research team.

Drs. Moffitt and Caspi are in the midst of preparing the next wave of data collection for The Dunedin Longitudinal Study in New Zealand. It is critical that all deadlines are met in this preparation. The postholder will help all research and administrative staff accomplish that goal. In order to do this, we need an individual who is motivated and detailed oriented.

Excellent computer skills are strongly desired using the following software systems: Access, Excel, Word, Endnote, Powerpoint, and Internet.

A background in behavioral sciences is very useful. BA/BS is required.

Specific responsibilities of this position:

- Produce newsletters of research findings for participants
- Design and format interview protocol booklets for a study of the health of New Zealanders in their 30’s
- Assist Administrative Manager in the maintenance of centralized Z: drive for specific lab documents
- Monitor journals for potentially interesting articles (distributing cover pages and table of contents)
- Research and pull relevant articles (internet searches) to various measures
- Find visual aids to put into Powerpoint presentations (internet searches)
- Make charts/graphics/tables for presentations
- Assist in maintaining electronic and paper binders for all measures
- Edit documents and be able to make additional comments/suggestions if needed
- General research team support – correspondence, photocopying, mail services, travel arrangements, reimbursements
