Student Research Assistant Paid (Duke Work-Study)
We are looking for a work-study student to assist in our research laboratory in the Duke Medicine Department’s Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care. Our lab focus is on understanding basic mechanisms regulating epithelial maintenance and renewal in the pulmonary system. Our goal is to understand fundamental principles of tissue maintenance and repair that will be informative for development of new treatments for patients with lung disease.
We are seeking a responsible, independent and detail oriented student who is willing to learn and has an interest in pulmonary medicine. Students will be primarily responsible for basic laboratory housekeeping duties such as autoclaving, glassware cleaning, solution preparation, and stocking as well as assisting in immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and cell culture. Students must be able to commit to 6 to 10 hours per week for 2 consecutive semesters.
