RESEARCH PRACTICUM AND WORK-STUDY OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPRING, 2010

The Child Learning Lab at Duke University is seeking motivated students who are interested in gaining hands-on research experience. Two types of positions available:
1. Receiving course credit for research practicum (PSY 50)
2. Paid work-study position

Our research examines the role of learning in cognitive and locomotor development, such as how children learn to walk or use tools. Students will get hands-on experience with all aspects of research, including designing experiments, creating testing apparatus, recruiting and scheduling subjects, collecting and coding behavioral data, and helping with data analysis. Students will work closely with the professor, lab coordinators, and other students.

We are looking for responsible, independent, and mature students who possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills. Experience working with children is not required, but highly encouraged. Students must be able to commit 10-12 hours per week for 2 consecutive semesters. For more information, please refer to our website (http://childlab.psych.duke.edu) or contact Saskia Anzola (saskia.anzola@duke.edu).
