The Wilbourn Infant Lab @ Duke (WILD) is looking for practicum students for the Spring 2010 semester. This is a thrilling time to become involved in the WILD! We are continuously developing exciting and innovative research studies.

The research conducted in the WILD focuses on the relations between gesture, thought, and language throughout development. We have also begun work on story telling and memory in Indian bilingual children and adults. We will soon be taking our research out into the community to local elementary schools and daycares!

Being a part of this fun and energetic lab will entail recruiting, scheduling, and testing infant/toddler participants, maintaining database and web page, creating video and audio stimuli, and more. We are looking for motivated, detailed-oriented, mature, reliable, and energetic people who demonstrate ease and comfort interacting with infants and their families. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands-on research experience.

If interested please send an email of interest, including your relevant coursework/research experience, to Laura Kurtz at LK71@duke.edu.
